Payte Lane, Inc. is a family-owned business founded in 2016 to address some of the challenges with owning real estate in the Bay Area. Housing affordability in Santa Clara County, for example, is dismally low – only 18% of households in the county could afford a median-priced home in the 2nd quarter of 2018, according to the California Association of Realtors. Prices are high mainly because the housing inventory is low. There just aren’t enough affordable options available or being built to keep up with demand. On top of that, many people feel stuck in a “house rich but cash poor” situation where they believe they will lose 30 – 50% of their equity to capital gains taxes.
Payte Lane, Inc. exists to become part of the solution – finding and building affordable single-family housing in the highest performing school districts. Unlike many other investors and builders, we focus on providing quality entry-level options, not higher profit luxury or “step-up” housing. We also partner with tax professionals who specialize in safe and legal ways to entirely defer capital gains tax at the time of sale to help provide high-equity home-owners with options that aren’t readily available.

Payte Lane is a concept – a representation of Home, Safety, Security, Community and fond childhood memories. Everyone deserves their own Payte Lane and that’s why we are developing with a difference – we don’t just build houses, we’re Building Home.
